#CodeZone was started in 2015 by Tusiime Innocent Boub who had gone through the wrath of Structured Programming and Java in the previous year as a freshman in the School of Computing and Informatics Technology (SCIT), College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS) at Makerere University.
